This avocado chocolate mousse soooo easy to make! It requires no cooking, is vegan and vegetarian friendly, can be made keto friendly, paleo or to suit a raw diet simply by changing up the sweetener to suit.
Suggested sweeteners are
- Honey for those on a raw food diet
- Coconut Sugar for those on a vegan diet
- Erythritol, Stevia or Monkfruit for a sugar free, Keto version.
This recipe is perfect for any occasion, and honestly, if you don’t tell anyone it’s made from avocado they’ll never know. It’s delicious!
Avocado – For Salads, Dressings, & Desserts
Isn’t avocado an awesomely versatile food? You’ve gotta love it – especially in this dessert recipe!
The subtle flavour and creamy fattiness of avocado lend it to all manner of dishes. In fact the myriad of ways to use this amazing fruit are really only limited by your imagination.
For example I’ve used avocado in raw cakes and slices, on pizzas, in salads and savoury dishes, and to make dips and dressings like the creamy dressing on these zucchini noodles.
I really don’t think there’s a fruit that is more versatile than avocado!
Raw Avocado Chocolate Mousse Is Delicious!
I’ve been making this raw avocado mousse for years. In fact it was a hot favorite for ages whenever we had people for dinner because it was so quick and easy.
I’ve made it for plenty of people over those years and they’ve all been surprised when I’ve told them it’s made from avocado.
Even the weird folk who don’t like avocado actually love this mousse! It doesn’t taste like avocado. In fact it’s not avocado-y at all. It just tastes like a delicious chocolate dessert.
Tip: I’d advise you not to tell family or friends what it’s made from until after they’ve eaten it! 😉

Avocado Chocolate Mousse
Equipment
- Blender or Thermomix
Ingredients
- 2 medium to large avocados
- 2 large tablespoons of raw honey or chosen sweetener to taste
- 1 tsp natural vanilla essence (NOT imitation)
- 1 large tablespoon of organic virgin coconut oil
- 1 heaped tablespoon of raw cacao OR raw carob powder
- 1/8 tsp organic Tamari
- 1/8 tsp Balsamic vinegar
Instructions
- Place all ingredient into a strong blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
- Refrigerate for an hour or more to cool.
- Enjoy!
Variations
- Add 4-6 drops (or more to taste) of DoTERRA Wild Orange essential oil – it goes soooooo well with chocolate! OR other essential oils that you could try are Peppermint, Cardamom, Cinnamon…. Mmmmm….
- Use whatever sweetener or combinations of sweeteners suit you. A few options are stevia, erythritol, maple syrup, date syrup, coconut nectar. If you prefer it less sweet simply cut down on the sweeteners.
This chocolate avocado mousse is sooooo good. Make sure you taste it before serving to make sure it’s sweet enough for you as ‘medium’ or ‘large’ avocados can be different sizes and so you might need to add a bit more sweetener if you like it sweet and depending on which sweetener you use.

Thank you for publishing about this. There?s a mass of crucial tech data on the web. You?ve got a lot of that information right here on your web site. I?m amazed ? I try to keep a couple blogs pretty on-going, but it is a battle sometimes. You?ve done a terrific position with this 1. How do you do it?
Ha ha – tell me about it. I’ve got too many sites and can’t focus on all of them. I need to do a biiiiigggg tidy up! This one is my main focus tho.
Hello can I quote some of the content here in this entry if I provide a link back to your site?
where do you find raw balsamic vinegar??
Ok – mostly raw avocado mousse if you want to be picky! 99% of a recipe is raw enough for me to call it raw – palm sugar isn’t raw either but if you’re fussy about it leave out the balsamic and the palm sugar and use more honey – pretty simple really 😉

I would love to write and say what a great job you did on this, as you have put a lot of work into it.
Really nice post,thank you
For your next post, perhaps you can address the issue of commenting addiction, and tell me how to get my life back 🙂
Believe me Merrilee – I’ve been thinking about it! I delete soooooo many comments from my blog every day – Comment spam is REALLY annoying and those chasing backlinks should
1. Be a bit smarter and not put the same comment page after page…
2. Be a bit more thoughtful to the blog owner
3. Add something that’s actually of value to others
4. Not waste their time or mine by add junk comments to my blog!
It’s not addiction unfortunately as you know – it’s chasing traffic and $$$ but doing it the WRONG way.
